Bach Flower #4 – Centaury

11/03/2020

Here we are at the fourth flower of the Bach Flowers series.

The Centaury elixir is for shy and docile people who cannot say no. They are kind and gentle people who want to help others. Often, we end up abusing their overly kindness. This Bach flower helps overly helpful people to assert themselves, to assert themselves.

Characteristics of the Century TypeCentaure

  • can’t you say no?
  • you cannot express your will clearly?
  • lack of balance between your needs and those of others.
  • need more self-esteem.
  • for shy people who are abused by others.

In the Words of Dr. Bach

Remedy to give strength. Weakness after illness: pale, languid, tired, without energy, limp, exhausted. Void of vitality. Those who desire peace at all costs. Even when sick, they may be too willing to help others and be tired and exhausted from their efforts. The mind is often alert, but the body is weak, too weak to exert much effort. Soft, submissive and imposed because of their good nature.

Kind, calm, kind people who are too eager to serve others. They overload their strength in their efforts. Their wish grows so much on them that they become more servants than voluntary helpers. Their good nature causes them to do more than their own share of the work and in doing so they may neglect their own special mission in life.

– The twelve healers and other remedies

Question of the day

Can we overdose on Bach Flowers?

The answer is no. But it’s a shame to waste flower essence drops if you don’t need them… it’s not like you can purchase more at your local market or do it yourself with your garden variety.

Conclusion

Centaury will help you find your true self, so that you can become an active, positive worker instead of a passive agent.
