What’s that Thing on my Degree?

09/19/2019

If you get a degree – any degree – from us at the AMCC, you might be surprised to see a nice colorful symbol on top. Or not. After all, it could be there just to make the diploma look nice – which it does. Even the colors match the ones from the school. However, if you read closely the letter that accompanies the degree for our students, you can read the following explanation:

The symbol at the centre of the graphic expression is called Ensō. It means « circle » in Japanese. The Logo Diplômesymbol represents wholeness, perfection, achievement, and unification. It perfectly represents holistic medicine because it doesn’t shatter but tries to unite pieces of a being to restore balance. Holistic medicine implies knowledge, respect, and participation of all of our bodies. It puts its trust on the life within us and plays an important role in the healing process.

Both lines on the left of the symbol Ensō represent duality. We live in a world of duality and it manifests itself intensely when we lose balance on our physical, mental, emotional or spiritual bodies. The darker colours are used to represent this imbalance. The orange line represent life, health, energy, and the return to unity of our different bodies. Symbolically, both lines representing duality (disease, malaise) go through the circle of unification (holistic medicine) to restore balance between yin and yang. Both lines converge as one (health).

Now you know! All you need to do now is get yourself one of those degrees! Good luck!
