Ode to Health

04/08/2019

It’s soon summer, winter will be all forgotten – but no need to wait for next winter in order to get healthier! So let’s see what we can drink in order to be ready for what’s comin’.

It’s a well-known fact in nutrition that there’s no such thing as a SUPER FOOD, one thing that will cure all. We have to learn what’s good for us, how to prepare it, how often to make it… We indeed have to learn how to… Dance with your ingredients! Nature gives us plenty to get busy with.

Here are some examples of ingredients you can mix and match in order to create a special booster drink… an Ode to Health!

If you boil thyme and rosemary for a few minutes, their curative properties will emerge and you’ll have yourself a nice basis for some great healthy drink! Add cinnamon, ginger and honey. Once it is cooled, lemon can easily complete this ensemble. Here are more details about the properties of the ingredients.

Lemon is well-known for its capacity to boost the immune system, with its Vitamin C. However, it’s not so useful when it’s heated so wait a while before adding it to the boiled drink. Thyme and rosemary are antiinfective, antioxidant and antiseptic. Honey is also an antiinfective and cinnamon is, well… anti bacterial.

In short, a nice team that will protect you from bacteria, each in their own way!
