It is increasingly apparent that diseases are different but the biological process that triggers them is the same. And inflammation is being singled out today.
Diet is a major cause of chronic inflammation. Making changes to your diet can lead to possible improvement and even reverse the process. Let’s find out how.
“THE GERM IS NOTHING, THE ENVIRONMENT IS EVERYTHING”
This expression is often quoted. It was first used by Antoine Béchamp, renowned biologist, and later by Pasteur on his deathbed.
It means that in biology, and in medicine, the important thing is not so much to eradicate the disease but to strengthen the vital mechanisms of the body.
Behind this quote is the fact that an organism that is working well will not get sick; which is also the global concept of medicine, and of life.
First consider the environment which deals with:
- Life more than disease.
- The person who is being cared for. All environments are not identical.
Your environment is both your overall health level and its specific characteristics. It is similar to your framework or your foundation.
It is shaped by both your genetic heritage and your surroundings.
Many factors have an impact on your environment:
- The relationships you have with your loved ones.
- The air you breathe.
- The water you drink.
- The stress to which you are subjected or that you create.
- Your amount of daily physical activity…
STRENGTHEN YOUR DEFENSES
Strengthening your environment helps your immune system work better.
It also facilitates the chemical (hormonal) and electrical (nerve impulse) communication of your body.
When your metabolism works well, it is better able to deal with an illness, which otherwise could become a serious disease.
Thus, to use the words of Dr. Michel Lallement (1), an oncologist surgeon:
“Each of us eliminates many cancer cells every day.”
The lifestyle that one adopts – even during a bout with cancer for example – has a direct impact on the appearance or the evolution of the disease.
What is true for cancer, is also true for infectious diseases.
For example, it is possible to live with Lyme disease, which can be very debilitating for some patients (tinnitus, violent headaches, muscle aches), etc.
Some people, hunters for example, are repeatedly bitten by ticks, yet they never feel the symptoms of the disease, others manage to eliminate them one by one by adapting their lifestyle.
From this point of view, the doctor’s role is not to be a warrior and combat the disease, but rather promote self-healing of the body by working with the right biological systems.
The doctor could be compared to a gardener in permaculture. They do not try to control weeds. They direct the plant life mechanisms in the desired direction.
For the gardener in agrobiology, there are no weeds.
For the doctor who treats the environment, there are no pathogens such as bacteria, viruses or even cancer cells, etc. There is only an imbalance.
The doctor’s job is to promote a return to equilibrium so that cancer stops, and dangerous bacteria disappear.
INFLAMMATION IS A SIGN OF DANGER!
According to Dr. Michel Lallement,
“The biological process that leads to the occurrence of all chronic degenerative diseases is identical, although these diseases are different from each other”.
The cause is “chronic inflammation”.
Inflammation is a naturally occurring defense mechanism when the body faces external aggressions such as infections, burns, etc.
When acute, the symptoms are obvious: heat, redness, swelling and pain.
When chronic, the manifestations are more discreet such as recurring pain or bloating …
Chronic inflammation is caused by chronic aggression!
Is it caused by the environment? A frequently consumed food? Heavy metal poisoning?
FOOD INTOLERANCE: A CLASSICAL CAUSE OF INFLAMMATION
It is always good to understand the cause of the problem in order to find a cure.
Dr. Michel Lallement is interested in the frequent food intolerances in his patients.
In his opinion, a quarter of the French population suffers from food intolerance to varying degrees.
This proportion rises to a third for his cancer patients!
His clinical definition of food intolerance is: when one stops eating a particular food, one feels much better.
But it is also possible to look for food intolerances from biological markers.
These intolerances cause intestinal hyperpermeability which can also be a cause.
In other words, the cell barrier that protects the intestinal wall from potential aggressors (bacteria, viruses, toxins), while absorbing nutrients, becomes more porous.
The possible onset consequences of this intestinal porosity are varied:
- Sleeplessness
- Eye pain
- Digestive disorders
In the long term, this situation of permanent body overheating can lead to, or considerably favor, the advent of chronic diseases: inflammatory rheumatism, multiple sclerosis, cancer…
HOW TO AVOID FOOD INTOLERANCE
There are so many people with food intolerances that we tend to forget that it is not fatal.
Food intolerances can be avoided by applying some basic principles:
- Consume natural foods, neither GMOs nor processed by the agri-food industry.
- Avoid gluten: pasta, white bread, wheat, pastries, cookies, processed deli meats (dusted with flour), etc.
- Avoid products that poison the liver: anti-inflammatories, antibiotics, alcohol.
- Work on getting to know yourself, listening to yourself, loving yourself, and thus reducing your stress. The work done by the Institute of Emotional Logic is remarkable and deserves to be known. (Their website is here.)
HOW TO CURE FOOD INTOLERANCES?
Generally, these intolerances are created by well-identified products such as milk, eggs, gluten, kiwis or bananas…
Intolerance can also occur from some vegetables that are poorly digested due to the fermentation they create.
We can then follow a FODMAP diet which consists of eliminating, for a time, all the foods on the FODMAP list before reintroducing them, one by one, into the diet to see which ones cause the problem.
You can find the FODMAP list here.
This approach, which is not so simple, is more easily followed with the help of a competent nutritionist.
You can find a trained nutritionist by searching the list of integrative medicine schools such as ECIM, or recognized naturopathic schools such as Isupnat, Idenat or Cenatho.
Excluding, for approximately four weeks, the consumption of gluten and dairy products is an interesting experience that improves the well-being of most who have tried it.
Once a chronic disease or cancer has taken hold, there is no more time for hesitation.
Consuming these dietary products only serves to maintain inflammation and strengthen these diseases.
TAKING CARE OF OUR INTESTINAL FLORA
Here are some helpful tips:
- Eat 7 vegetables per day and 2 fruits.
- Avoid drinking too much sparkling water.
- Favor red wine over white wine and do not exceed more than one drink per meal.
- Favor lower cooking temperatures (< 120 degrees).
- Cook your vegetables (easier to digest).
- If you have contracted a virus, Dr. Bruno Donatini suggests taking certain fungi such as Coriolus, Ganoderma or shiitake.
To a lesser extent, you could take prebiotics or probiotics in some cases.
Naturally yours,
Augustin de Livois
