Program Director / Herbologist / Therapist – Contract
POSITION SUMMARY: Fresh Start is a Health Restoration Retreat that has been operating since 2005. Fresh Start is a healing centre where people come to improve their health using natural means. We specialize in physical health, emotional wellness, quit smoking, and holistic detox programs.
You have a leading role in supporting the groups on their healing journey through:
• Orientation, guidance and process explanation throughout the program;
• Morning Check-ins: include daily health forms/ request processing (ex., book appointment);
• Assistance with healing symptoms management (with supplements, tips, emotional support);
• Resolution of various day-to-day situations and management of the group dynamics;
• Documentation-related tasks (ex., collect end-of-stay documentation, meal take out forms);
• Facilitation of weekly group times and presentation of some lectures.
CREDENTIALS PREFERRED:
Chartered Herbalist, Registered Natural Health Consultant, Reg. Ac./TCM, LPN/ RN or other similar credentials. Note: If you do not have the listed credentials but meet all other requirements, feel free to apply. MOST IMPORTANT: You need to have some understanding of physical and emotional health.
HOURS: Program Director opportunity is available only during our program dates. We operate on a 3 weeks on/ 3 weeks off schedule. You’ll provide Program Director services for 3 weeks, and then you’ll have three weeks off. There is a longer break between the end of November and mid-January.
PROGRAM DIRECTOR (PD) PAY:
Pay: $25 per hour; if have/ after herbology training $30 per hour, Contract pay.
You are paid a set fee per program, not on an hourly basis.
Total Pay for PD Hours (set fee, for 100 hrs., per 3-week program): $2,500 at $25; $3,000 at $30.
THERAPIST INCOME:
If you are a skilled bodyworker or therapist, you may make an additional $1,500 per 3-week program.
PROGRAM DIRECTOR AND THERAPIES TOTAL ESTIMATED PAY: $4,500 per 3 weeks
REQUIREMENTS:
• Excellent interpersonal skills; an embracing and nurturing personality.
• Good understanding of physical and emotional health.
• Outstanding time management, punctuality and self-organization.
• You are not afraid of challenges and even enjoy resolving them.
• You are an engaging public speaker and an avid researcher.
• You find satisfaction and enjoyment in office work and have some computer skills.
• Physical and emotional resilience.
You are ready to commit to a minimum of 1-2 years to Program Director Duties and get herbology certification and First Aid at your cost.
