Activated Charcoal

Activated charcoal, known for its purifying and detoxifying properties, has become an essential ally in the beauty industry. Obtained through the carbonization of organic materials like wood or coconut, it is renowned for its ability to absorb impurities and toxins.

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons of beeswax
  • 1 teaspoon of castor oil
  • 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel
  • ½ teaspoon of activated charcoal
  • 1 to 2 drops of vitamin E

Preparation

  1. Clean and sterilize: Begin by cleaning and sterilizing an old mascara tube and its brush, as well as all the utensils you will use.
  2. Melt the wax and oil: Melt the beeswax and castor oil in a double boiler until they are completely liquid.
  3. Add aloe vera: Remove the mixture from the double boiler and add the aloe vera gel. Mix well to achieve a homogeneous texture.
  4. Incorporate the charcoal: Next, add half a teaspoon of activated charcoal and mix until the color is evenly distributed.
  5. Add vitamin E: Finish with 1 to 2 drops of vitamin E and mix again.
  6. Transfer the mixture: Carefully transfer the mixture into the mascara tube using a piping bag or a small plastic storage bag with a small hole in one corner.
  7. Cool and set: Allow the mixture to cool and set for a few hours, then your homemade mascara is ready to use!
