Abscess
An
abscess
is
a
localized
infection,
usually
bacterial
in
origin,
that
results
in
the
accumulation
of
pus
under
the
skin
or
deeper
within
the
tissue.
In
most
cases,
it
is
caused
by
a
staphylococcus
bacteria.
Symptoms
include
sharp
pain,
noticeable
redness,
and
hardening
of
the
affected
area.
The
causes
can
be
numerous:
infected
insect
bites,
scratching
that
introduces
germs,
boils,
medical
injections
without
aseptic
conditions,
septic
punctures
from
drug
use,
or
improperly
done
hair
removal.
What
natural
solutions
can
be
considered?
An
abscess
should
be
evaluated
by
a
healthcare
professional.
Depending
on
its
size
and
location,
medical
treatment
or
surgery
may
be
necessary.
The
role
of
the
doctor
is
to
allow
for
the
drainage
of
the
abscess
and
to
prescribe
an
appropriate
antibiotic
treatment,
particularly
against
staphylococci.
Phytotherapy,
however,
can
support
the
maturation
of
the
abscess
while
awaiting
medical
advice
or
as
a
complement.
