The Healing Crisis: A Necessary Step Toward Well-Being

05/08/2025

It is essential to purify and detoxify your body at least once a year. This process helps eliminate toxins, improves organ function, prevents premature aging and chronic diseases, and maintains weight balance as well as a better quality of life.

Elimination of toxins through the excretory organs

During a detox cure, fasting, or when using certain natural health products that have drainage or cleansing actions, the body eliminates harmful substances by expelling them through the excretory organs.

The excretory organs are the five organs responsible for this purification: the intestines, liver, kidneys, lungs, and skin. These natural filters help rid the body of toxins and other waste products.

The role of vital force

However, when the body is faced with an excess of toxins, the excretory organs become overloaded, leading to tissue congestion, making waste elimination more difficult. This is when the vital force, the energy that enables us to maintain our physical and psychological functions, steps in to help restore balance. It is common to see that even without medical treatment, the body is able to naturally recover when it is in good health.

Thus, when the excretory organs are overwhelmed and unable to eliminate waste properly, the vital force activates mechanisms to correct the congestion of the terrain and allow the body to continue functioning normally.

Healing crises

These regeneration efforts can trigger what are known as healing crises. These detoxification or cleansing crises aim to more actively expel toxins through the excretory organs. They can take various forms and may be accompanied by unpleasant symptoms. It is a natural process that allows the body to purify itself.

Reactions during healing crises

The reactions observed during healing crises vary from person to person, but they are usually sudden and unusual. They can appear a few days after starting detoxification and last from a few days to several weeks. Generally, the greater the congestion, the more intense the crisis will be.

Here are some common reactions during a healing crisis:

  • Headaches

  • Back, neck, and joint pain

  • Excessive sweating

  • Skin rashes

  • Digestive disturbances (constipation, diarrhea)

  • Digestive issues (bloating, flatulence, abdominal cramps, acid reflux)

  • Bad breath

  • Fatigue and irritability

  • Flu-like symptoms or ear, nose, and throat problems

  • Frequent urination, a full bladder

  • Vaginal discharge, heavy periods

The excretory organs engaged during detoxification depend on the types of waste being eliminated, as well as the specific strength of each organ. This is why reactions can vary from one person to another.

Benefits of healing crises

These crises should not be viewed negatively, as they are beneficial for the body’s regeneration. They allow the body to get rid of toxins in large amounts and are crucial steps for true purification of the terrain. Therefore, detoxification crises should not be suppressed, but it is important to monitor them. If they become too intense, it is recommended to consult a practitioner for appropriate advice.

Before undertaking a detoxification, fasting, or dietary cure, it may be helpful to start with a gentle and natural drainage to prepare the body for gradual toxin elimination.

It is also advisable to consider supplementation with vitamins, minerals, and trace elements, to provide the body with the necessary nutrients to support the detoxification process effectively.
