The beautiful kukui is a providential tree from the Pacific with seemingly all the virtues. Kukui nuts are harvested once they fall from the tree to extract a delicate yellow oil with low viscosity and a very dry touch, which is highly penetrating. Rich in linoleic acid (omega 3 and 6), it protects the skin from external aggressions and expertly prevents dryness. Its richness in oleic acid (omega 9) nourishes the skin, aids in healing, reduces minor lesions, and soothes itching.
“Island Hair” Mask
In a bowl, blend a very ripe banana and add 1 teaspoon of kukui oil. Add to this mixture ½ mashed avocado and 2 teaspoons of coconut milk. Whisk together to obtain a creamy and smooth mask. Apply immediately to unwashed and dry hair. Leave on for about fifteen minutes. Finally, use a mild shampoo, followed by a cold water rinse with a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar.
